Clearout some fonts

There are too many fonts on my system. Which can I delete?

There's no way to tell what program uses any given font. However, if a font file has the same date and time stamp as Windows files like notepad.exe, or displays Copyright Microsoft Corporation when you double-click it, it's probably a system font and shouldn't be detected.

For the major releases of Windows 95 and 98 these dates are as follows:

Windows 95 version 1 build 4.00.950: 11/07/1995;
Windows 95 OSR 1 build 4.00.950A: 11/07/1995;
Windows 95 OSR 2 build 4.00.1111 (4.00.950B): 24/08/1996;
Windows 95 OSR 2.1 build 4.03.1212-1214 (4.00.950B): 24/08/1996 - 27.08/1997;
Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.5 build 4.03.1214 (4.00.950C): 24/08/1996 - 18/11/1997;
Windows 98 build 4.10.1998: 11/05/1998;
Windows 98 Second Edition, build 4.10.2222A: 23/04/1999;
Windows Me: 8/06/2000.

However, regardless of their date stamps, never delete or remove any of the standard fonts that come with Windows: Arial, Courier, Courier New, MS Serif, MS Sans Serif, Marlett, Small Fonts, Symbol, Tahoma, Times New Roman, Verdana, Webdings and Wingdings.
